I'm a bad blogger...:(

Oops, it's been 1 1/2 weeks since my last entry and I didn't managed to show all those beautiful things I got for my birthday - mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! I promise I'll do better in future and will catch up on everything...

I want to thank all those who made my birthday special by thinking of me, I felt very special. I really tried to answer everyone but I couldn't reach some of you because you were "no reply". I'm sorry for that so I try it on this way: thank you for your nice words, I really appreciated them!

Before I start with my race to catch up, I wanted to show you what I did yesterday evening: Lynette's Scissor Holder (free pattern from the Stitchers' Angel swap). I started with tea dyeing some old bed linen and used it as background for the stitchery. I couldn't help it but alter the front motif - after dreaming two nights in a row of my belated dog I just coudn't stitch an - admittedly cute - cat on my scissor holder. Of course, it isn't as perfect as Felix, but I'm O.K. with it.
I wouldn't be me, if I didn't make one crackbrained mistake {ouch, it really hurts!}: I glued the background stitchery with the WRONG SIDE UP on the cardboard...and didn't notice it until now while I'm writing this post in the brightest daylight ...do I have to say something else? Initially, the scissor holder was planned as a gift but I think it isn't anymore :o).

Thanks for stopping by,
happy stitching,
Julia

I'm a dog person rather than a cat peson, too, so understand completely! And what a lovely reminder of your beloved doggy friend! Don't miss my give away!! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

  10. I just came from Lynnette Anderson's blog. She said there was a "gorgeous version of the 'Here Kitty' scissor holder" on your blog. She was right. It's adorable. I enjoyed your blog. I just received the September Fat Quarter Shop mystery block but the fabric is still in the package. I'm glad to see the finished block. It looks great!

I'm glad Lynnette pointed me to your blog. I enjoyed reading it. I'll check back.
