Phew, just in time...

Puh, gerade noch kurz vor Ende des Monats habe ich den letzten Stich an den Giraffen des Noah's Ark Stitchery BOMs von Lynette gemacht. Die Flecken sehen bei mir ein bisschen so aus, als hätten die beiden Pickel... aber ich sage einfach, es sind jugendliche Giraffen ;o).

Phew, I just did the last stitch on the giraffes of the Noah's Ark Stitchery BOM by Lynette. The giraffes spots look a little bit like...pimples...well... I'm saying that they are teenagers ;o).

Ich habe einen Vogel...oder drei ;o)

Gestern kam mein bestelltes Tilda-Buch an. Natürlich war ich die nächste Stunde erstmal nicht ansprechbar. Heute habe ich versucht, ein paar Vögel zu nähen. Nach dem ersten Versuch dachte ich: gut, Figuren sind einfach nicht meins... aber ich glaube, so langsam habe ich den Dreh mit der Füllung 'raus. Naja, Übung macht bekanntlich den Meister. Demnächst möchte ich noch die Cupcakes nähen... und die Gans... und das Schwein... und der Teddybär {nicht für mich ;o)}... und die Handschuhe ...hihi...das habe ich bei den anderen Tilda-Büchern auch schon gesagt, aber bisher ist noch nicht soviel daraus geworden...mehr Träume als Zeit, das Übliche eben ;o).
Oh {ich trau mich gar nicht, das zu sagen...} ich habe etwas gewonnen bei Susan @ Ape Over Quilting...was, weiß ich nicht {ich liieebe Überraschungen}. Sie hat gerade mit ihrem ersten Quilt angefangen - viel Glück dabei!
Yesterday my copy of the newest Tilda book arrived. Of course, I wasn't accessible for the next hours. Today I made an attempt to sew some birds. After the first I thought: O.K., stuffed things aren't for me...but now I think, well, I'm getting better with every itty-bitty bird's stuffing. Well, practice makes perfect, doesn't it? I want to sew, too, the cupcakes....and the goose...and the pig...and the cute wonky teddybear {no, not for me ;o)}... and the mittens...and....heehee...I have already said the same when I got my other Tilda books...but until now I didn't make it true...more dreams than time to make them true, the usual stuff ;o).
Oh {I'm afraid of telling this} I've won something...from a giveaway Susan @ Ape Over Quilting...I don't know what it will be yet...I love surprises ;o). She just started her first quilt. Good luck to you, Susan and thank you, Musket, for picking me!

bom boM bOM BOM

Puh, ich bin gerade mit dem 2. Block des Leanne's House BOM fertig geworden - die 57 Schlingstich (circular blanket stitch)-Blüten haben mich echt geschafft ;o)...mir gefällt der so reichlich bestickte Shoofly-Block...auch, wenn die Stoffe wenig Kontrast haben.
Außerdem habe ich den dritten Block des Designer Mystery BOMs endlich fertig piecen können. Ich musste auf meinen Rettungs-Fat Quarter warten - leider habe ich es geschafft, ein Quadrat als zu kleines Rechteck zuzuschneiden {das ist eine der gefürchteten Nachteile von Kits}. Erst dachte ich, ich hätte Glück im Unglück und habe die Piece on Earth Scraps, die im wunderbaren Gewinn von Nicole @ Sister's Choice Quilt dabei waren, herausgeholt. Schade, sie waren leider ein kleines bisschen zu klein. Und so habe ich einen Rettungs-FQ bestellt und das ganze Wochenende {ganze vier Tage!} gewartet. Ich finde, es hat sich gelohnt; 'Peace in Flight' wurde von Joanna Figueroa (Fig Tree Quilts) entworfen...mein Lieblingsblock ist aber immer noch der 'Cross Stitch' Block von Brenda Riddle (Acorn Quilt and Gift Company), das war der erste Block.
Oh, ich habe ganz vergessen das Foto von Nicole's Scraps zu zeigen...dafür bin ich todesmutig auf einen Stuhl gestiegen...aber wie es aussieht ist das sorgsam arrangierte Foto im Speicherkarten-Austausch mit meinem Freund wohl verloren gegangen {grummel!}...ich werde es wohl nochmal machen müssen {und dabei habe ich fast eine halbe Stunde am Arrangement der Scraps gearbeitet...hmpfgrndl}.
Heute habe ich meine Miss Strawberry auf den Weg zu Sabine geschickt...ich hoffe, sie kommt gut in ihrem neuen Zuhause an. Ich habe in der letzten Woche so viel Briefe und Päckchen verschickt, ich sollte mir vielleicht Aktien kaufen...und soviel Porto wie noch nie gezahlt ;o). Aber es macht Spaß, die 'Luftpost/par Avion'-Aufkleber auf die Briefe zu kleben...und sich vorzustellen, wohin die Reise geht {wenn's nicht so unbequem wäre, hätte ich auf meinen Allerwertesten ebenfalls ein paar Marken geklebt mit dem Ziel Tropische Insel oder Größter Patchwork Laden der Welt, hehe}.

Oh, und wieder Neues an der Giveaway-Front: Debi feiert ihren 200. Eintrag, und Amanda hat die 100 geschafft...!

Phew, I just finished the second block of Leanne's House BOM - after 57 circular blanket stitch flowers I'm totally exhausted ;o) ...but I really like the heavily stitched Shoofly block....although the fabric show only few contrast...I can live with it.

Besides, I pieced the third block of the Designer Mystery BOM. I had to wait for a rescue fat quarter because I managed to slice in the fabric that didn't allow wrong cutting {that's one of the downsides of kits}. First I thought 'blessing in disguise' and took out the scraps I won from the fabulus Nicole @ Sister's Choice Quilt. There actually was the right cream floral print - but unfortunately a tad small for what I needed. So I had to wait four whole days until the rescue fat quarter arrived. I think it's been worth the wait, 'Peace in Flight' was designed by Joanna Figueroa (Fig Tree Quilts) ...until now my favourite block is - still - 'Cross Stitch' by Brenda Riddle (Acorn Quilt and Gift Company), that's the first block.
Oh, I completely forgot to show the picture I made from all the scraps Nicole sent me some time ago {I still disagree with the term 'scraps'...I refer to them rather as 'little treasures' - Thank you, again, Nicole!}. But I tried hard to get a beautiful picture, I even climbed a chair for it...and I'm totally afraid of heigths {perhaps because I'm a very grounded person ...read: petite}. But it seems that the picture got lost in the memory card exchange trouble with my boyfriend (grmpf!) ....and it took me more than half an hour to carefully arrange all those beautiful sraps...(hmmpfgrndl!)
Today I sent my little Miss Strawberry on the way to her new home to Sabine...I hope she has a safe trip. In the last week I mailed so many letters and packages - I consider buying some shares of the Post/DHL...as I paid more postage than ever before ;o). But it's fun to stamp all these 'Luftpost/par Avion' sticker onto the envelopes and imagine where their journey will end {if it wasn't too uncomfortable I'd put some stamps on my bum with the destination 'Tropical Island' or 'Largest Quilt Shop of the World', heehee}.

Oh, news from the giveaway front: Debi celebrates her 200th post and Amanda just achieved the 100th... congratulations, ladies!
