Show & Tell Part II

Nach einem sonnigen Wochenende voller Zeitreisen (Besuch eines Mittelalter-Festes), Traditionen (Ostereier-Weitwurf) und viel zu vielen Schoko-Eiern komme ich schließlich wieder an den Computer um mit meinem kleinen Show & Tell weiter zu machen... Heute dreht sich alles um die BOMs, denen ich verfallen bin ;o).
Ich habe gerade eben die letzten Stiche am März-Block des "A Tisket A Tasket"-BOM von "meiner" Anne *zwinker* gemacht. Bitte entschuldigt den knitterigen Stoff, aber ich wollte das Bügeleisen heute Abend nicht noch einmal anmachen...
Die Anleitung für den nächsten Block liegt schon ausgedruckt vor mir...ich bin noch am Überlegen, wie ich das "Problem" löse, zwei braune Bunnies zu vermeiden...mal sehen, der Monat hat ja noch ein paar Tage ;o). {Die Knöpfe und Verzierungen kommen erst, wenn ich alle Motive appliziert habe.}

After a sunny weekend full of time travels (visit to a medieval times fest), celebration of traditions (Easter egg-throwing) and way too much chocolate eggs I finally come back to my computer to continue my little Show&Tell... Today it's all about the BOMs I'm fallen for ;o).
I just made the last stitches on the March block of the "A Tisket A Tasket"-BOM by "my" Anne *twinkle*. Please forgive the crumpled fabric but I didn't want to turn on the iron again this night...
The pattern for the next block is already printed...I am thinking about how to solve the "problem" to avoid two brown bunnies...well, there are still some days left this month ;o). {I'll add the buttons & trims when I have appliquéd all blocks.}
Auch den März-Block des Designer Mystery BOMs habe ich in meiner Abwesenheit genäht. Kaum zu glauben, dass nur noch 2 Blöcke folgen. Aber ich habe mich bereits für den neuen DMBOM bei Kimberly angemeldet {wer noch???}, sonst würde ich jetzt schon Entzugserscheinungen befürchten ;o).
Das Lustige ist, dass ich mir (fast) genau diesen Block als Alternativ-Block ausgesucht habe, um den Quilt auf Bett-Größe zu bringen...ich werde wohl noch ein bisschen mit dem Layout spielen müssen...

I also pieced the March block of the Designer Mystery BOM during my blog break. It's hard to believe that there are only 2 blocks left. But I already signed up for this year's new DMBOM at Kimberly's {who else???}. If not, I'd fear severe withdrawal syndrome ;o).
Funny thing is, that I chose (nearly) this block as alternative setting block to enlarge the quilt enough to fit my bed...I maybe have to play with the layout again...
Meinen Leanne's House BOM habe ich nicht vergessen ~ nur schändlich vernachlässigt ;( Ich bin immer noch nicht wirklich weiter gekommen als Block 4 & 5 zu nähen und mit dem Sticken von Block 5 anzufangen {wie man sieht, auch das nicht so erfolgreich - ein Faden hat sich gelöst...grrr...hab's erst entdeckt, nachdem ich das Foto gemacht habe...}

I haven't forgotten my Leanne's House BOM - I only neglected it ;(. I still haven't made mentionable progress other than that I've pieced block 4 & 5 and to start stitching block 5 {as you can see, not very successful - a thread has loosened...grr...just discovered it after making the picture...}Und zum Abschluss noch ein klitzekleinen Blick auf eines meiner "geheimen" Projekte...naaa, neugierig?

Design Wall

Hallo - hier bin ich wieder...ich dachte, es wird langsam zeit für einen neuen Eintrag...ich wollte nicht, dass meine lieben Besucher als Erstes einen sich übergebenden Kürbis sehen ;o). Naja, dieses Wochenende war nicht wirklich produktive...um ehrlich zu sein, ich hab so gut wie gar nichts geschafft *hust&schnief*. Worüber also kann ich schreiben? Wieder einen laaaangweiligen Post über meine Nahtoderfahrung mit dem Rollschneider (hihi, etwas Übertreibung darf sein), über die andauernde Virenparty bei mir oder gar über meinen zum Weglaufen aussehenden Mini-Garten - nö, DAS tu ich mir und Euch nicht an!
Aber ich hab ein bisschen mit PSE gespielt und habe jetzt eine "virtuelle Designwall" {...waaah, schlechtes Deutsch/Englisch...ich versuch's noch mal...hmm...ach nö... Entwurfswand hört sich noch viel schlimmer an...wie heißt das Ding nun auf deutsch????} für meinen Leanne's House BOM. Ich habe Leanne gefragt, ob ich ihr Foto vom fertigen Quilt dafür verwenden darf. Es sieht ein bisschen so wie die Designwalls der 'Janiacs' für ihre Fortschritte an den Baby Janes. Anina @ Dear Baby Jane hat im Sommer ein Tutorial erstellt, wie man das macht (hier klicken, dann kommt Ihr direkt zum Tutorial). {Nebenbei bemerkt: nein, an diesem Mammut-Quilt nähe ich (noch?) nicht, aber ich hab ihren Blog trotzdem abonniert - man darf ja träumen ;o)}.
Oh, vielleicht habt Ihr ja schon gemerkt, dass ich das Glück quasi mit der Muttermilch (ähem...) aufgesaugt habe - also ich geb's zu, ich habe eine Anleitung für Christmas Stockings beim Giveaway von Leanne gewonnen (*freu*)...ich habe ja die Hoffnung, dass ich tatsächlich noch DIESES JAHR zumindest eine der süßen Weihnachtssocken in meinem Haus auf hängen kann - Wetten werden entgegengenommen ;o) (wie schon gesagt, man darf ja träumen)...muss unbedingt Riesen-RicRac finden...!
Hi again, I thought it was time for another post...didn't want the puking pumpkin the first thing to be seen by my dear visitors ;o). Well, this weekend I didn't accomplish much...truth to be told, nearly nothing. So what to post? Another boring post about me being ill & torturing myself with rotary cutters ...or some pictures of the (horrible) state of my mini-garden - nope, THAT won't happen!

But I've played with PSE and now have a little virtual design wall for my Leanne's House BOM. I asked Leanne for permission to use her picture of the original quilt. It's a bit like all those Janiacs who show their progress on their Baby Janes on design walls. Anina @ Dear Baby Jane made a tutorial how to do that (click here and you'll get to the post) - Thanks again! {BTW, I'm NOT working on my own Baby (yet) but I've subscribed to this blog nevertheless...a girl can dream, can't it?}.
Oh, and you maybe know by now that I've 'imbibed luck from my infancy'...so I have to confess that I won the giveaway at Leanne's a little while ago. Thank you, Leanne! I really hope that I can hang up at least one of those adorable stockings in my house THIS Christmas (as I told, a girl can dream)...have to find some GIANT ric rac...;o)

Block 3

Ha! - Ich habe am Wochenende tatsächlich etwas getan, und ich habe sogar tatsächlich etwas quiltiges gemacht ;o)! Am Samstag war wieder ein Mädels-Treffen zum Sticheln und Quatschen und ich hatte extra im Voraus ein paar Blöcke von verschiedenen Projekten vorbereitet. Ich hatte mir selbst versprochen (hüstel, hüstel), mich nicht vom Buffett ablenken zu lassen, bevor ich nicht mindestens einen Stich an meinem Block gestickt hätte - und habe es sehr wörtlich genommen. Soviel zu meinen Versprechen an mich selbst. Naja, nach dem zweiten Frühstück habe ich dann doch Einiges am 3. Block des Leanne's House BOM geschafft. Den Rest habe ich dann gestern Abend vervollständigt, so dass ich ihn heute stolz präsentieren kann - ta-daaa! *g* Ich hatte soviel Spaß beim Applizieren der Teile, dass ich fast traurig war, als ich das geschafft hatte...

Ich würde Euch gerne noch andere Dinge zeigen, mit denen ich meine Zeit verbringe, aber das würde nur die Überraschung für die Empfänger verderben...
Ich wünsche Euch also einen guten Start in die Woche & bis zum nächsten Mal ;o)!

Ha! - I actually did something on the weekend, and I did actually something quilty ;o)! On Saturday the monthly 'stitching & chatting date' was taking place and I had prepared some blocks from several projects to stitch. Well, after the first stitch I said: 'I promised not to do other tings before doing at least one stitch on my project. Well, promise fulfilled, I'm going to the buffet and have a second breakfast'. O.K., so much for that. But later I got some more stitches on the third block of the Leanne's House BOM & I finished it yesterday evening so that I finally can present it to you - ta-daa ;o)! I had so much fun appliquéing that I was almost sad when completing that step...
There are some other projects that I loved to share with you but until now it would only spoil the surprise for the recipient...

bom boM bOM BOM

Puh, ich bin gerade mit dem 2. Block des Leanne's House BOM fertig geworden - die 57 Schlingstich (circular blanket stitch)-Blüten haben mich echt geschafft ;o)...mir gefällt der so reichlich bestickte Shoofly-Block...auch, wenn die Stoffe wenig Kontrast haben.
Außerdem habe ich den dritten Block des Designer Mystery BOMs endlich fertig piecen können. Ich musste auf meinen Rettungs-Fat Quarter warten - leider habe ich es geschafft, ein Quadrat als zu kleines Rechteck zuzuschneiden {das ist eine der gefürchteten Nachteile von Kits}. Erst dachte ich, ich hätte Glück im Unglück und habe die Piece on Earth Scraps, die im wunderbaren Gewinn von Nicole @ Sister's Choice Quilt dabei waren, herausgeholt. Schade, sie waren leider ein kleines bisschen zu klein. Und so habe ich einen Rettungs-FQ bestellt und das ganze Wochenende {ganze vier Tage!} gewartet. Ich finde, es hat sich gelohnt; 'Peace in Flight' wurde von Joanna Figueroa (Fig Tree Quilts) entworfen...mein Lieblingsblock ist aber immer noch der 'Cross Stitch' Block von Brenda Riddle (Acorn Quilt and Gift Company), das war der erste Block.
Oh, ich habe ganz vergessen das Foto von Nicole's Scraps zu zeigen...dafür bin ich todesmutig auf einen Stuhl gestiegen...aber wie es aussieht ist das sorgsam arrangierte Foto im Speicherkarten-Austausch mit meinem Freund wohl verloren gegangen {grummel!}...ich werde es wohl nochmal machen müssen {und dabei habe ich fast eine halbe Stunde am Arrangement der Scraps gearbeitet...hmpfgrndl}.
Heute habe ich meine Miss Strawberry auf den Weg zu Sabine geschickt...ich hoffe, sie kommt gut in ihrem neuen Zuhause an. Ich habe in der letzten Woche so viel Briefe und Päckchen verschickt, ich sollte mir vielleicht Aktien kaufen...und soviel Porto wie noch nie gezahlt ;o). Aber es macht Spaß, die 'Luftpost/par Avion'-Aufkleber auf die Briefe zu kleben...und sich vorzustellen, wohin die Reise geht {wenn's nicht so unbequem wäre, hätte ich auf meinen Allerwertesten ebenfalls ein paar Marken geklebt mit dem Ziel Tropische Insel oder Größter Patchwork Laden der Welt, hehe}.

Oh, und wieder Neues an der Giveaway-Front: Debi feiert ihren 200. Eintrag, und Amanda hat die 100 geschafft...!

Phew, I just finished the second block of Leanne's House BOM - after 57 circular blanket stitch flowers I'm totally exhausted ;o) ...but I really like the heavily stitched Shoofly block....although the fabric show only few contrast...I can live with it.

Besides, I pieced the third block of the Designer Mystery BOM. I had to wait for a rescue fat quarter because I managed to slice in the fabric that didn't allow wrong cutting {that's one of the downsides of kits}. First I thought 'blessing in disguise' and took out the scraps I won from the fabulus Nicole @ Sister's Choice Quilt. There actually was the right cream floral print - but unfortunately a tad small for what I needed. So I had to wait four whole days until the rescue fat quarter arrived. I think it's been worth the wait, 'Peace in Flight' was designed by Joanna Figueroa (Fig Tree Quilts) ...until now my favourite block is - still - 'Cross Stitch' by Brenda Riddle (Acorn Quilt and Gift Company), that's the first block.
Oh, I completely forgot to show the picture I made from all the scraps Nicole sent me some time ago {I still disagree with the term 'scraps'...I refer to them rather as 'little treasures' - Thank you, again, Nicole!}. But I tried hard to get a beautiful picture, I even climbed a chair for it...and I'm totally afraid of heigths {perhaps because I'm a very grounded person ...read: petite}. But it seems that the picture got lost in the memory card exchange trouble with my boyfriend (grmpf!) ....and it took me more than half an hour to carefully arrange all those beautiful sraps...(hmmpfgrndl!)
Today I sent my little Miss Strawberry on the way to her new home to Sabine...I hope she has a safe trip. In the last week I mailed so many letters and packages - I consider buying some shares of the Post/DHL...as I paid more postage than ever before ;o). But it's fun to stamp all these 'Luftpost/par Avion' sticker onto the envelopes and imagine where their journey will end {if it wasn't too uncomfortable I'd put some stamps on my bum with the destination 'Tropical Island' or 'Largest Quilt Shop of the World', heehee}.

Oh, news from the giveaway front: Debi celebrates her 200th post and Amanda just achieved the 100th... congratulations, ladies!

Countdown ;o)

Heute Abend ist es soweit...dann zieht mein Freund die Gewinnerin/den Gewinner...bis dahin könnt Ihr aber noch auf der Seite des Australian Homespun vorbei schauen und die Web-Specials anschauen. Unter anderem gibt's ein kleines weihnachtliches Projekt von Buttonberry, vielleicht ist das ja etwas für all diejenigen, die jetzt schon mit den Weihnachtsvorbereitungen anfangen {bei den heutigen Temperaturen ist mir irgendwie nach Kaminfeuer und Kakao, aber ich glaube mein Vermieter sieht es nicht so gerne, wenn ich jetzt anfangen würde, ein Loch in die Wand zu hauen und dort ein Feuer legen würde...ähem}.

Ach so - ich versuche ja, mich an meinen Vorsatz 'Kein Post ohne Foto' zu halten...deswegen gibt's heute eins von einem WIP. Ich habe den 2. Block des Leanne's House BOMs gepieced und muss jetzt nur noch Zeit finden, ihn zu besticken ;o).
This evening time has come for my boyfriend to draw the lucky winner...until then you can pass the time with a visit of the Australian Homespun website to enjoy the web specials they provide. Among others there is a little Christmassy project designed by Buttonberry - perhaps interesting for those who have already started with their preparations to welcome Santa...I'm thinking of those participating in the SSCS at Chookyblue ... {with this low temperatures in mid August (!) I'd love to snuggle up on the sofa, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying a nice fireplace...but I don't think my landlord likes the idea of me knocking a hole in the wall and setting a blaze...ehem}.
Oh, following my device 'no post without picture' I show you one of my WIPs. It's the second block of Leanne's House BOM, it's already pieced - and now I only have to find some time to finish the stitchery.

Wie versprochen, die ersten zwei Fotos. Den Rainbow-Cow Block von Lynette Andersons Noah's Ark Stitchery BOM habe ich im Bett gestickt - wer sieht die Fehler? (Nein, die fehlenden Kreuze in den Kuhflecken sind es nicht...ich bin mir noch nicht sicher, ob die überhaupt noch dazu kommen...)

As promised, the first two pics. I did this rainbow cow block by Lynette Anderson (Noah's Ark Stitchery BOM) in my bed - who can find my mistakes? (No, it's not the missing crosses within the cow's spots...I'm not sure if I will stitch them at all...)

Naja, und hier ist er, mein erster Block des Leanne's House BOMs. Ich freu mich wie ein Honigkuchenpferd - wenn der Quilt denn irgendwann einmal fertig ist, werde ich ihn über mein Klavier hängen...*freu*
Links oben fehlt noch ein appliziertes Herz - dafür muss ich noch den passenden Stoff heraussuchen.

Well, this is my first block of the Leanne's House BOM. Hehe, I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat - if this quilt eventually will be completed I will hang it on the wall above my piano *grin* In the top left square there is a heart applique missing - I still have to decide on the appropriate fabric.
