friday fabric focus - {parisville}

FFF comes to you on a Saturday...does anybody care? I don't think so...but if so, I just want to say it was a hard week... {that's why your comments are mostly un-answered and I haven't visited all blogs yet...}

This week's focus is on 'Parisville' by the über-talented Tula Pink.

Den dieswöchigen FFF gibt's dieses Mal an einem Samstag...kümmert's jemanden? Ich glaube nicht, aber falls doch: es war eine harte Woche (weshalb auch fast alle Kommentare immer noch unbeantwortet sind und ich hoffnungslos mit meiner Blog-Leseliste hinterher hinke).

Aber zurück zum Thema...heute geht's um 'Parisville' von der super-talentierten Tula Pink.

 I love Tula's eye for the little and quirky details (and isn't it the small things that matter?). 

I even came to love purple with this collection, a color that normally isn't among my favorites...

'Parisville' was inspired by Sophia Coppola's 'Marie Antoinette' starring Kirsten Dunst...a movie that blew me away because of the costumes and props (although I found so boring that I never made it to the end each time I saw it). On her blog, Tula shares how this collection came to life (don't you love those behind the seams scenes tidbits?).

Ich liebe Tulas Auge für kleine und etwas abgedrehte Details (und sind es nicht die kleinen Dinge, auf die es ankommt?). Ich habe sogar erstaunt festgestellt, dass ich sogar die Lila-Töne dieser Kollektion richtig schön finde, obwohl ich diese Farbe sonst so gar nicht zu meinen Favoriten zähle...

'Parisville' ist inspiriert von Sophia Coppolas 'Marie Antoinette' - ein Film, der mich mit seinen Kostümen und Requisiten absolut umgehauen hat (obwohl ich ihn so langweilig fand, dass ich es bei mehreren Anläufen nie geschafft habe, ihn bis zum Ende zu gucken). Auf ihrem Blog zeigt Tula ein paar Hintergrundinfos zur Entstehung von 'Parisville'.

Do I have any plans yet? Of course! Too many to choose, as always! {It seems that this is a major problem I have *lol*}. Some of those ideas are

• Rob Peter to pay Paul/Orange Peel-ish pattern (with the print below in the center)
• an Amy Butler Birdie Sling for me (but about 1/4 smaller...I don't have that long arms)
• a Dresden Plate pillow (and/or quilt???) - I'm such a copycat!
• a Union Jack something?
• I hardly dare it to bring up again....a Single Girl quilt!? {If I did every SGQ in every fabric combination I dream of, I could plaster the whole city with it...heehee}

Ob ich schon Pläne für meine Stöffchen habe? Natürlich! Um ehrlich zu sein, mal wieder zu viele, um mich mit mir & mir auf eine (oder zwei) zu einigen! {Scheint ein wiederkehrendes Problem zu sein, was? :)}. Einige davon sind:

• Rob Peter to pay Paul/Orange Peel mit dem Medaillon-Print in der Mitte
• eine Amy Butler Birdie Sling für mich (nur etwa ein Viertel kleiner als das Original...hab zu kurze Arme dafür!)
• ein Dresden Plate pillow (und/oder Quilt???) -bin ja so ein Ideenklauer
• ein Union Jack-Irgendwas?
• Ich trau mich kaum, es schon wieder auf's Tapet zu bringen: ein  Single Girl Quilt!? {Wenn ich tatsächlich jeden SGQ in allen Stoff-Kombinationen, die mir vorschweben, nähen würde, könnte ich damit die ganze Stadt pflastern...hihi}
