BOM & Scavenger Hunt @ The Fat Quarter Shop

Ich habe mich beim Quilten meines Happ-Bee Birthday Samplers mehr als einmal über nicht-aufeinandertreffende Nähte und abgeschnittene Spitzen geärgert und habe mir vorgenommen, dass ich mich - wenn nötig - mehr mit dem Nahttrenner anfreunde bzw. ihn gleich vermeide. Letzen Monat dann konnte ich nicht widerstehen und habe mit einem weiteren BOM angefangen - und gebe mir die größte Mühe, meinen guten Vorsatz umzusetzen. Bisher bin ich zufrieden mit mir und meinen Nähten ;o). Den Designer Mystery BOM habe ich bei The Fat Quarter Shop gefunden, und da ich mich sowieso in die Stoffe der Peace on Earth Kollektion von Three Sisters verliebt habe *seufz*, habe ich nach langem Hin- und Her den BOM bestellt. Da er im Juni bereits angefangen hat, habe ich gleich 2 Blöcke bekommen, die ich inzwischen in aller Ruhe gepieced habe...es macht Spaß, ausnahmsweise mal nicht die Stoff-Kombinationen selbst auszuwählen...irgendwie entspannend...einfach nur der wirklich guten Anleitung folgen und darauf achten, dass alles passt wie's soll {so sehr ich es liebe, Stoffe selbst auszusuchen, habe ich doch immer noch die Befürchtung: was, wenn's hinterher besch...n aussieht? Dann hab ich das Geld für nichts und wieder nichts ausgegeben...und schließlich haben die 12 Designer dieses Quilts wunderschöne Arbeit geleistet...auch, wenn ich erst 3 der 12 Blöcke gesehen habe...} Ich überlege noch, ob ich mir das Finishing Kit dazu holen, oder zumindest den Teil selbst planen will...mal sehen...

Der August-Block ist leider noch nicht angekommen, ich warte noch ungeduldig darauf, ebenso auf einen absolut fabelhaften Wildflower Serenade Charming Jellycake, den ich bei der Schnitzeljagd des FQS-Blogs gewonnen habe (juhuu, ich habe das Rätsel richig gelöst, dabei war ich früher bei Rätseln die absolute Niete und habe sie gehasst). Ich freue mich schon, die Stoffe zu verarbeiten...sooo viele Möglichkeiten...
Näht vielleicht noch jemand an dem BOM? Was macht Ihr mit den fertigen Blöcken? Nachdem ich schon dachte, dass nur ein bloggender Quilter, John von Quilt Dad, ihn näht, habe ich heute gleich zwei DMBOMs auftauchen sehen...naja, zum Teil waren sie schon früher da....z. B. bei Peg (Happy in Quilting) {ha! jetzt weiß ich auch wie der nächste Block aussieht!} und Anne Marie (Anne Marie's Quilt).

While quilting my Happ-Bee Birthday Sampler I was often annoyed at non-matching seams and chopped off points and I decided to befriend my seam ripper respectively to avoid the seam ripper by being more cautious. Last month I couldn't resist any longer and joined in another BOM - and I try hard to implement my intentions. I found the Designer Mystery BOM at The Fat Quarter Shop and as I fell in love with the Peace on Earth collection by Three Sisters *sigh* I finally ordered this BOM. It began back in June so I could piece together 2 blocks. It's fun not to fuss over the fabric selections for a quilt but only following the most clear and detailed instructions and paying attention to matching seams...{don't get me wrong, I love the process of selecting fabric and planning my quilt myself, but there is still the fear that it turns out ugly and that I've spent my money for nothing...so a kit is someway relaxing - and after all, all these gorgeous designers did a great job...well, judging by the three block I've seen so far!!!} I still haven't decide wether to buy the finishing kit or designing that part on my own...well, we'll see...
The August BOM hasn't arrived yet - and I have to wait for an absolutely fabulous Wildflower Serenade Charming Jellycake as well, which I won at a scavenger hunt at the FQS blog (THANK YOU, Jocelyn!! Yay, I actually solved the riddle ...back in school I was soo bad at it that I hated ridlles, it seems that I just need the right topic, lol). I can't wait to get my parcel...fun sewing with the new block......and so much possibilities to use the Jellycake...
Does anybody out there participate in this BOM, too? Have you decided on the finishing yet? Until yesterday I only had seen the DMBOM at one quilting blog - John at Quiltdad - but now I could discover 2 other bloggers...Peg at Happy in Quilting {ha! now I know what beauty awaits me!} and Anne Marie at Anne Marie's Quilt...
