It's Sampler Time - again ;o)

Puh, ich habe heute einige Stunden (!!) damit zugebracht, einen (!) weiteren Block des Quiltfriends-Online-Samplers zu nähen. {Bin nur ich so langsam oder ist das normal?} Und wieder habe ich etwas Neues ausprobiert: Paper Piecing (Nähen auf Papier). Irgendwie war mir das bisher nicht so ganz geheuer, aber es war letztendlich gar nicht so schwer. Ob es allerdings meine Lieblings-Piecing-Methode wird, wage ich zu bezweifeln - dafür ist mir das anschließende Entfernen des Papiers zu pfriemelig.
Und noch etwas kann ich zeigen...{zugegebenermaßen nichts besonderes, aber Fotos sind immer schön}: gestern habe ich eine weitere Dankes-Karte fertiggestellt. Und auch hier etwas Neues {das wird ja schon fast langweilig, hehe}: Die Kreise habe ich mit meinem neuen Kreisschneider geschnitten und ich habe zum ersten Mal auf meiner Nina gestippelt...dass ich noch ganz viel üben muss, ist klar - aber es macht SPASS!!!
Schließlich wollte ich Euch noch die alte Nähmaschine meiner Großmutter zeigen. Es ist ein spanisches Fabrikat, Alfa. Der Name sagt mir nichts, aber ich gebe zu, dass ich das WWW noch nicht danach durchforstet habe. Vielleicht finde ich ja irgendwann jemanden, der mir zeigt, wie die Maschine funktioniert - sie scheint in einem recht guten Zustand zu sein...sieht man mal von den eingeklemmten Fäden ab, die im Handrad-Griff stecken {wie hat meine Oma das wohl hinbekommen?} Besonders schön finde ich das ziselierte Metall - sie macht sich momentan sehr gut als Deko in unserem Flur.

Phew, today I spent several hours (!!) to sew one (!) new block of the Quiltfriends.de online sampler. {It's just me that I'm so slowly or is that normal?} And again I tried something new - paper piecing. Somehow I was a bit uneasy about it but in the end it wasn't that difficult. Anyway, I don't think this becomes my favourite piecing method - I don't like to fiddle with the paper when subsequently removing it...
And there is another project I can show (admittedly, nothing special, but I like pics in my post): yesterday the second Thankyou-card was finished. And, again, I tried something new (oh, soon it's getting boring): I tested my new circle cutter and stippled with my Nina. I know that I have to excercise a lot - but it's FUN!
Finally I wanted to show the old sewing machine of my grandmother. It's a spanish brand, Alfa. I don't know it but I still haven't searched the internet for it. Perhaps somebody will teach me to use it some day - it seems to be in a good condition - if you don't look at the entangled threads at the balance wheel {how did my grandmother manage to do this??}. The engraved metal is quite beautiful - so it's perfect to decorate the hall.
