Design Wall

Hallo - hier bin ich wieder...ich dachte, es wird langsam zeit für einen neuen Eintrag...ich wollte nicht, dass meine lieben Besucher als Erstes einen sich übergebenden Kürbis sehen ;o). Naja, dieses Wochenende war nicht wirklich produktive...um ehrlich zu sein, ich hab so gut wie gar nichts geschafft *hust&schnief*. Worüber also kann ich schreiben? Wieder einen laaaangweiligen Post über meine Nahtoderfahrung mit dem Rollschneider (hihi, etwas Übertreibung darf sein), über die andauernde Virenparty bei mir oder gar über meinen zum Weglaufen aussehenden Mini-Garten - nö, DAS tu ich mir und Euch nicht an!
Aber ich hab ein bisschen mit PSE gespielt und habe jetzt eine "virtuelle Designwall" {...waaah, schlechtes Deutsch/Englisch...ich versuch's noch mal...hmm...ach nö... Entwurfswand hört sich noch viel schlimmer an...wie heißt das Ding nun auf deutsch????} für meinen Leanne's House BOM. Ich habe Leanne gefragt, ob ich ihr Foto vom fertigen Quilt dafür verwenden darf. Es sieht ein bisschen so wie die Designwalls der 'Janiacs' für ihre Fortschritte an den Baby Janes. Anina @ Dear Baby Jane hat im Sommer ein Tutorial erstellt, wie man das macht (hier klicken, dann kommt Ihr direkt zum Tutorial). {Nebenbei bemerkt: nein, an diesem Mammut-Quilt nähe ich (noch?) nicht, aber ich hab ihren Blog trotzdem abonniert - man darf ja träumen ;o)}.
Oh, vielleicht habt Ihr ja schon gemerkt, dass ich das Glück quasi mit der Muttermilch (ähem...) aufgesaugt habe - also ich geb's zu, ich habe eine Anleitung für Christmas Stockings beim Giveaway von Leanne gewonnen (*freu*)...ich habe ja die Hoffnung, dass ich tatsächlich noch DIESES JAHR zumindest eine der süßen Weihnachtssocken in meinem Haus auf hängen kann - Wetten werden entgegengenommen ;o) (wie schon gesagt, man darf ja träumen)...muss unbedingt Riesen-RicRac finden...!
Hi again, I thought it was time for another post...didn't want the puking pumpkin the first thing to be seen by my dear visitors ;o). Well, this weekend I didn't accomplish much...truth to be told, nearly nothing. So what to post? Another boring post about me being ill & torturing myself with rotary cutters ...or some pictures of the (horrible) state of my mini-garden - nope, THAT won't happen!

But I've played with PSE and now have a little virtual design wall for my Leanne's House BOM. I asked Leanne for permission to use her picture of the original quilt. It's a bit like all those Janiacs who show their progress on their Baby Janes on design walls. Anina @ Dear Baby Jane made a tutorial how to do that (click here and you'll get to the post) - Thanks again! {BTW, I'm NOT working on my own Baby (yet) but I've subscribed to this blog nevertheless...a girl can dream, can't it?}.
Oh, and you maybe know by now that I've 'imbibed luck from my infancy'...so I have to confess that I won the giveaway at Leanne's a little while ago. Thank you, Leanne! I really hope that I can hang up at least one of those adorable stockings in my house THIS Christmas (as I told, a girl can dream)...have to find some GIANT ric rac...;o)

Auch, wenn's in Deutschland eigentlich nicht gefeiert wird, wünsch ich Euch einen spukigen 31. Oktober... die einen feiern intellektuell, die anderen...naja, etwas weniger subtil. Ich lach über beides!

Insomnia - but late anyway

Hmmmm...da bin ich, mitten in der Nacht, und schreibe diesen Eintrag...um halb 3 war meine Nacht zu Ende, da ein 'freundliches' Grippevirus sich bei mir 'eingenistet' hat. I leide ja nun wirklich selten an Schlaflosigkeit und finde das jetzt alles andere als schön - aber ich hab mir gedacht, ich kann genausogut etwas Produktives tun. Voilà, hier bin ich. Ich brauche Euch aber nicht leid zu tun, ich lasse nicht zu, dass das Virus sich allzu wohl bei mir fühlt ;o). Obwohl, der kleine Kerl {klickt auf die Bilder und Ihr kommt zur entsprechenden Seite mit der Erklärung, wer sich dahinter versteckt} sieht ja nicht gerade hübsch aus, vielleicht sollte ich nicht allzu fies zu ihm sein. Vielleicht haben sich auch ein paar von denen eingenistet (Bild links)...Noch viel mehr zu finden unter Giant Microbes.

Leider kann ich die Zeit nicht nutzen, um an meinem 'geheimen Projekt' weiter zu arbeiten. Letztens hatte ich einen Beinahe-Unfall mit dem Rollschneider, weil die linke Hand nicht wusste, was die andere gerade tat, so dass es wahrscheinlich unklug ist, um 3.30 mit irgendwelchen scharfen Gegenständen zu arbeiten...
Also lese ich jede Menge Blogs - es hat definitiv Vorteile, wenn man Blogs vom anderen Ende der Welt liest & gerade mal nicht schlafen kann ;o)
Und was hab ich gesehen? - Jodi von Simply This That and the Other hatte die gleiche Idee wie ich (nur schöner verpackt und mal wieder früher umgesetzt als ich): Sie möchte wöchentlich einen interessanten quiltigen Blog vorstellen & sucht dafür jetzt einen passenden Namen...Ihr könnt übrigens aus einer Auswahl Euren Favoriten wählen bzw. selbst einen Vorschlag machen & macht damit automatisch bei der Verlosung einer Überraschung mit...oder Ihr sagt mir einen tollen Namen...und wenn er wirklich gut ist, überleg ich mir auch etwas Nettes für Euch ;o). Hihi, ich mache Jodi Konkurrenz - nee, das ist gemein, aber vielleicht hab ich ja Glück, und es bleibt ein netter Name für mich übrig.

Hmmm...here I am, in the middle of the night and writing this post...at 2.30 am my night was over because a nasty cold decided to "nest". I rarely suffer from insomnia so this is quite annoying - so I thought I could do something productive as well. Don't have pity on me...I won't let the rhinovirus feel too much at home ;o). That little one {on the right hand side, click on the picture to get to know who it is} doesn't look that pretty so perhaps I shouldn't be too harsh to it, should I? *lol*...maybe I'm visited by some of these, too (left). You can find more nasty creatures at Giant Microbes.)
I cant use the time by working on my secret projects now even if I wanted to, but some days before I had a near-rotary-cutter-accident because my left hand didn't know what the other was doing and at 3.30 am I don't think it wise to do anything with sharp ends...:(
Now I'm catching up with all my US blogs - it definitely has advantages if you're reading blogs from the other side of the world. And what did I just learn? Jodi @ Simply This That And the Other has had the same idea as me {but I'm much slower than her & she presented it much more stylish}: She wants to feature crafty /quilty blogs on her blog so that you'll spend even more time on the computer reading, quasi acting as your dealer for satisfying your blog addiction ;o). Me too - as I'm following quite a bunch I thought you might get to know a new one. But I haven't come up with a catchy name for it - neither has Jodi and she's having a contest. You either can vote for your favourite catchy phrase or suggest your own and then you're in for a surprise giveaway... well, I'm watching this site, perhaps a good phrase is left over & I can use it myself ;o). Or you could give me some suggestions and if there's the perfect one I'll come up with a little something for you - heehee, I'm going to compete against Jodi - nah, I don't...that's mean!

Block 3

Ha! - Ich habe am Wochenende tatsächlich etwas getan, und ich habe sogar tatsächlich etwas quiltiges gemacht ;o)! Am Samstag war wieder ein Mädels-Treffen zum Sticheln und Quatschen und ich hatte extra im Voraus ein paar Blöcke von verschiedenen Projekten vorbereitet. Ich hatte mir selbst versprochen (hüstel, hüstel), mich nicht vom Buffett ablenken zu lassen, bevor ich nicht mindestens einen Stich an meinem Block gestickt hätte - und habe es sehr wörtlich genommen. Soviel zu meinen Versprechen an mich selbst. Naja, nach dem zweiten Frühstück habe ich dann doch Einiges am 3. Block des Leanne's House BOM geschafft. Den Rest habe ich dann gestern Abend vervollständigt, so dass ich ihn heute stolz präsentieren kann - ta-daaa! *g* Ich hatte soviel Spaß beim Applizieren der Teile, dass ich fast traurig war, als ich das geschafft hatte...

Ich würde Euch gerne noch andere Dinge zeigen, mit denen ich meine Zeit verbringe, aber das würde nur die Überraschung für die Empfänger verderben...

Ha! - I actually did something on the weekend, and I did actually something quilty ;o)! On Saturday the monthly 'stitching & chatting date' was taking place and I had prepared some blocks from several projects to stitch. Well, after the first stitch I said: 'I promised not to do other tings before doing at least one stitch on my project. Well, promise fulfilled, I'm going to the buffet and have a second breakfast'. O.K., so much for that. But later I got some more stitches on the third block of the Leanne's House BOM & I finished it yesterday evening so that I finally can present it to you - ta-daa ;o)! I had so much fun appliquéing that I was almost sad when completing that step...
There are some other projects that I loved to share with you but until now it would only spoil the surprise for the recipient...
