Yep, I buckled down...after some gentle remarks that my old ironing board was in a REALLY bad condition...can't believe that I'm showing this picture of shame again *lol*.
So, instead of a Friday Fabric Focus I sewed a new cover...a red and white polka dot cover for my poor ironing board!

Jepp, ich konnte das natürlich nicht auf mir sitzen lassen, und habe einen neuen Bezug genäht ...nachdem mir einige taktvoll formulierte Kommentare klar gemacht haben WIE schlimm dessen Zustand war...wie komm ich eigentlich dazu, das Bild der Schande eigentlich hier noch mal zu zeigen *lach*.
Naja, statt eines Friday Fabric Focus gibt es heute das Ergebnis meines Nähabends...ein rot-weißer Polka Dot-Bezug für mein armes Bügelbrett (hehe, hab mich vorhin vertippt: Bügel-Bert...ich denke mal, jetzt hat mein Bügelbrett wohl einen Namen).

It isn't the fancy cover I've originally envisioned (a quilted cover with alternating red/dotty squares and sashing) - but at least I've pieced together two fabrics and even used two layers of cotton batting, along with about 2m elastic tape, for which I sewed a tunnel.

Es ist zwar nicht das schicke Cover, das ich mir ursprünglich vorgestellt habe (gequiltet, mit abwechselnd roten und gepunkteten Quadraten und Sashing und sowieso und überhaupt) - aber zumindest habe ich zwei Stücke Stoff aneinander genäht und sogar zwei Lagen Baumwollvlies verwendet, zusammen mit etwa 2 m Gummiband, für die ich einen Tunnel genäht habe.
So far I'm in love...who doesn't love red and white polka dots???
Tomorrow it is back to work...at least I'll able to enjoy my ironing board beneath the pile of clothes won't get done before next Friday...but it won't take too long until I'll have some more time again...

Bis jetzt bin ich eigentlich ganz begeistert...wer kann schon rot-weißen Polka Dots widerstehen???
Ab morgen wird wieder richtig gearbeit...aber zumindest kann ich mein neues Bügelbrett neben dem Berg an Bügelwäsche bewundern, der garantiert nicht vor nächstem Freitag bearbeitet wird...aber es dauert ja nicht mehr lange, bis ich wieder mehr Zeit habe...
