Mein Kuschelquilt

You're so sweet ~ thanks for all the comment love! So, and now I show you the other photos I made from my quilt so far....unfortunately I couldn't take a picture outside yet (as I initially planned) ~ I hope the weather plays nicely and then I'll do it ;o). Nonetheless this post is photo heavy, too....heehee, fabrics + photos are irresistible for me.
When I got my moda fabrics, I didn't know what to do with them...sometimes an idea has to grow before it's "good". So when I again was a lucky girl and won a giveaway at Heather Mulder Petersen's (Anka's Treasures) blog I knew what I had to do.
In between I wasn't sure at all wether the floral design of the fabric would fit to the beautiful "straight" design of the "Double Takes 3" Quilt...and I thought more than one time: u-oh, I ruined the fabric.
It was a real challenge to keep to my plan of a scrappy layout....well, when arranging the blocks (which I finished in two evenings) my A-type-personality-part became evident ;o).
{Holger modeling my quilt}
Details:
pattern - "Double Takes 3" by Heather Mulder Peterson (Anka's Treasures)
fabric - Fig & Plum by Fig Tree Quilts, Bella Solids Fig Tree Cream by moda
batting - Hobbs organic cotton (I LOVE it!)
machine pieced and machine quilted with a meandering pattern (Superior Threads King Tut - I LOVE it, too!)

Heather chose especially for me my armchair as an accessory for her pattern cover {no, just a coincident!}. Unfortunately I couldn't temporarily hang the quilt on the wall like her...but it's ok...;o)
Oh, no quilt without accident...this time it was my left index finger...and the needle (I spare you to look at photo of it...think of a bite by a tiny vampire).
Until next time...I'm wrapped in my quilt and off to bed,
Julia

P.S.: My May finish for the OPaM Callenge - woohooo!!!

I've added it to my spreadsheet as you May OPAM finish, so who knows, you may get lucky and win again! You seem to have much better luck at winning giveaways than I do - never won anything! :0( Ah well ... maybe one day!! Hope you're having a great week - Bear Hugs! KRIS
