++PIF++PIF++PIF++ or 'Finally'

Letzte Woche bekam ich Post aus Australien - jippieee! Mein PIF-Geschenk von Jo @ Vintage Lane Stitches. Das Warten hat sich so gelohnt - ich bin so begeistert von den schönen Dingen, die Jo für mich gemacht hat. Da war zum Einen das in rosa eingepackte Geschenk und eine wunderschöne Karte mit australischer Landschaft {von Donna @ Chookyblue - ich will nach Australien!!}. Das nächste, was ich beim Auspacken fand, war ein kleines rosa Säckchen, auf dem ein Vogel und mein Name gestickt war...süß!... Und dann noch Schokolade, die leider keine große Überlebenchance hatte {ich weiß jetzt auch, warum Jo die Cadbury Coala Chocolate am liebsten hat}. Und wir sind noch längst nicht am Ende angelangt...in dem Säckchen war nämlich noch ein rosa 'Sewing Caddy' zur Aufbewahrung von Nadeln und Garn etc. So schön! Und darin war sogar noch mehr: ein Fingerhut mit Blü-hümchen in rosa, zwei Knöpfe {auch die sind ein bisschen rosa}, DMC-Garn {ein Docken in einem wunderschönen - Ihr ahnt es - rosa-Ton}. Danke, Jo!!

Einige von Euch fragen sich jetzt: na, kriegt sie jetzt nur Geschenke oder gibt's auch mal 'was für andere?? Na klar. Als die Post aus Australien ankam, war ich gerade dabei, die letzten Stiche an meinem PIF-Geschenk für Conny zu tun... Ich habe es bereits am Donnerstag abgeschickt {daher das 'Finally' im Post-Titel - ich habe natürlich wieder ein paar Tage länger dafür gebraucht - grmpf!} und bei Hermes noch nie so lange auf die Zustellung warten müssen. Sie sollte es eigentlich im Laufe des Tages bekommen. Naja, ich hoffe sehr, dass es ihr gefällt...bin ganz nervös deswegen...und damit ich auf keinen Fall die Überraschung verderbe, zeige ich erstmal nur eine kleine Vorschau auf einen Teil des Geschenks...bin froh, überhaupt daran gedacht zu haben, ein Foto von xxxxx zu machen ;o).

Last week I got mail from Australia - yipee! My PIF gift from Jo @ Vintage Lane Stitches. Oh, but it was so worth the wait. I'm spoilt by the amazing pressies she did for me. First, the sweet wrapped parcel in pink, accompanied by a beautiful card (made by the famous Donna @ Chookyblue - wanna visit Australia!!!), the next thing I found was a little 'sac' in pink on which Jo embroidered my name & a bird...so cute...and then there were some chocolate - now long gone, but I can tell you, it was most delicious and I totally understand why Jo likes the Cadbury Coala Chocolate most!!). But we're not at the bottom of this bag of surprises ...no, there was a beautiful sewing caddy in, you guess it, pink. Adorable! And in this little gem there were even some more pressies...love them all: a pink thimble, some cute buttons {with a little pink on them}, and DMC embroidery thread {one of them in a beautiful shade of - yep - pink!}. Thank you Jo, I'm so glad I found your blog in time for your PIF gift! Unpacking all these reminded me of those matryoshka dolls ;o).
So, some of you might wonder if I didn't make anything...well, yes. Actually I was frantically sewing the last stitches on my PIF gift to Conny ..and I finally managed to send it off on Thursday {hence the alternative title ;o)}. She should get parcel by now - I've never sent a parcel nationally that took that long to arrive. And to avoid spoiling the surprise I only show a little sneak peek {I'm glad that I even have taken pictures of the gifties}. Oh, I hope she likes it...I'm so unsure...

Conny hat ihr Päckchen bekommen und wie's scheint, gefällt ihr auch der Inhalt ;o). Hier das Foto: eine kleine Tasche {meine ERSTE TASCHE!!! Abgeändert aus Australian Homespun Vol. 9.8 nach einem Design von Leanne Beasley}, das Riesen-Nadelkissen von Cotton Spice, das ich Euch schon mal gezeigt habe, Quilt-Pins und ein Lineal 1"x6" {eingepackt auf dem Foto}, einen Weihnachtsstoff {nicht auf dem Foto} und einen Satz Untersetzer. Die Anleitung dazu gibt's bei Jenny Beck @ Allsorts.

Conny got her parcel and it seems she actually liked it ;o). Now the pictures: a tiny bag {my FIRTST BAG!!! Pattern altered from Australian Homespun Vol 9.8, designed by Leanne Beasley}, the giant pincushion by Cotton Spice, I showed before, flower head pins, a 1"x6" ruler {both wrapped in quilty themed paper on the photo}, Christmas-y fabric {not showed} and a set of coasters by Jenny Beck @ Allsorts.

My First Pincushion...

Juhu, ich habe mein erstes Nadelkissen genäht. Und Kissen ist tatsächlich das richtige Wort, denn das Teil hat einen Durchmesser von ungefähr 7"/18 cm... das hat den Vorteil, dass selbst die langen Quilt-Stecknadeln mit dem Blumenkopf darin Platz finden, ohne dass man {sprich: ich} sich an den unten herausschauenden Spitzen piekst. Sehr clever! Die wirklich leicht nachzuarbeitende Anleitung stammt von Cotton Spice anlässlich des Stitchers' Angel Swap {kostenlose Anleitung kann entweder direkt auf dem Cotton Spice- oder auf Helen Stubbings' Blog heruntergeladen werden} und war im Original ein Chenille Pincushion...da ich aber keinen Chenille zu Hause hatte {und, wenn ich ehrlich bin, auch nicht zwingend zu Hause haben will}, hab ich einfach normale BW-Stoffe genommen und auf den rot karierten die Zackenlitze {ric rac hört sich irgendwie schöner an, nicht so steif und nach Korsett...;o)} genäht - in der Anleitung war das anders gedacht, aber ich dachte, ich mache es mir einfacher und bereite die Rauten mit dem RicRac-Band vor und nähe dann alles zusammen. Den Knopf habe ich selbst bezogen {meine Finger können es bezeugen!} und damit der nicht so einsam ist, habe ich ein YoYo darunter gesetzt.

Mir gefällt's - aber ich werde es wohl nicht behalten können {für wen kann das wohl sein!?} - muss ich wohl noch eins für mich nähen. ;o)

P.S.: Oh, ich habe gerade gesehen, dass noch jemand vor mir die gleiche Idee hatte...

Yipee, I've sewn my first pincushion. And cushion is the right word for it, because has a 7"/18 cm diameter... the advantage is, that even those long flower head pins fit in perfectly without pricking anyone {read: me} with their sharp ends. How clever! The really easy-to-follow pattern was designed by Cotton Spice for the Stitchers' Angel Swap (you can download the free pattern either on the Cotton Spice- or on Helen Stubbings' blog). Originally the pattern called for chenille fabric...but as I didn't have any chenille at home {and, to be honest, I don't want any chenille in my home} I used ordinary cotton fabrics. On the red checked one I sewed ric rac - it was intended slightly different but I wanted it to be easy {for me}, so I prepared the red diamonds with ric rac. I upholstered the button myself {my fingers can witness it!} and in order not to let it feel too lonely I placed a yoyo underneath.

I'm quite pleased with the outcome, but I won't keep it {to whom it may be!?} - so, I think I have to sew one for my own ;o).

PIF

So, bevor ich es noch ganz vergesse: hier ist mein PIF (pay it forward). Die Grundidee stammt wohl aus dem gleichnamigen Film und ist recht einfach zusammen zu fassen: Tu jemanden etwas Gutes, jedoch ohne eine Gegenleistung zu erwarten - in der Hoffnung, dass der Empfänger dies ebenfalls tut. Und so geht's: Die ersten 3, die einen Kommentar zu diesem Post hinterlassen und beimPIF Exchange mitmachen wollen, bekommen von mir ein selbstgemachtes Geschenk. Ich weiß nicht, wann das genau sein wird - sicherlich nicht mehr diesen Monat, vielleicht auch noch nicht im nächsten (obwohl ich mich bemühen werde). Aber ich werde es innerhalb der nächsten 6 Monate losschlicken (versprochen!). Alles, was Ihr dann tun müsst, ist, dieses "Spiel" weiter zu spielen, indem ihr es in Eurem Blog postet.
